FTPUSA began restoring the “gonty,” or shingles, of the church in Stariy Yar in September 2016. The church, in the Yavoriv region of Lviv oblast, was built in 1670. The "gonty" are made from the wood of fir trees from the Carpathian Mountains. FTPUSA President Khristina Lew visited the church in Stariy Yar in September 2016. The restoration was completed in September 2017.
