The Church of the Epiphany in the village of Kuhaiv is on the national registry of architectural monuments of Ukraine. Built of wood in the Boyko style in 1693, it is flanked by a bell tower from the 17th century. After years of disrepair and rain damage, its roof and exterior walls are covered in moss. Restoration of the church had begun by the firm Lviv Restoration, only to be halted when funds from Lviv Oblast were diverted to the war effort. To protect the wooden church from further damage from the elements, the Foundation to Preserve Ukraine’s Sacral Arts awarded a grant to Lviv Restoration in March 2024 to build a protective covering until restoration work can resume.
